Android has left its footsteps in every corner of the world, leaving buyers of all price ranges with an option to opt for an Android device. A lot of manufacturers have been manufacturing Android based Cellphones and we take a look at the best Android Phones in India here.
Samsung Galaxy S II
The Samsung Galaxy S II is termed as the best Android smartphone in the world, at the moment owing to its 1.2Ghz Dual Core Processor chip, a GPU, a gorgeous 4.3″ Super AMOLED Display and a 8 Megapixel camera that does Full HD Recording at 1080p. The I9100 also comes with 1 GB of Ram and storage options upto 64GB. There is also a 2MP camera on the front, also enabling face recognition to unlock your phone protecting all your data in the most secure way ever and comes with the latest version of gingerbread, 2.3.3.
The SII has been doing really well in numbers in India and stocks seem to be selling out real quick. This phone has a market price of Rs.30,000 in the Indian markets and has been criticized for the lack of NFC in the Indian retail version.
LG Optimus 2X
The LG Optimus 2X was the world’s first dual core Android phone and managed to sell quite well throughout the world. Its Indian launch was before the SII’s, though it has started becoming available in retail stores only recently. The 2X also comes with Full HD recording capabilities though RAM is limited to 512 MB only. It packs a dual core A9 chipset and a Nvidia GForce GPU as well. However, storage options are limited to a maximum of 40GB only. There’s a secondary camera of 1.3 MP enabling you to make UMTS Video Calls as well, thanks to the LG Engineers.
The LG 2X has a market price of 26,000 at the moment in the Indian stores and is available with a national replacement warranty of 1 year from LG India. This phone is an excellent buy and total Value for Money.
HTC Sensation
The HTC Sensation was launched in the Indian markets only a couple of days back and the Indian crowd always accepts HTC devices really well. Yet another dual core phone with a 4.3″ S-LCD screen and an all new HTC Sense UI. HTC has always been appreciated for its Sense UI, which has been credited the best UI ever laid over stock Android and now HTC’s new Sense 3 boasts of a load of improvements. There’s full HD recording, a 1.3MP secondary camera and touch to focus on its 8Mp camera out there. All of it together makes it one of the best Android devices in the market, thanks to HTC Sense as well.
The Sensation has a market price of 33,000 at the moment, just two days after its launch, though it might come down in the coming weeks. A price drop is surely expected and that would make it an excellent competitor to the Galaxy SII.
HTC Desire HD
Quite an old one and it’s been in the markets for long, still continues to be one of the best Android smartphones in India. It comes with a single core 1Ghz processor and a huge 4.3″ display. The Desire HD was also a part of the first batch of Android phones which possessed a 4.3 incher. Running HTC’s Sense UI over Gingerbread, the HD also sports four capacitive touch sensitive buttons in the bottom, the standard Android ones. With an amazing UI and a huge screen, the only negative this phone has been known for is its poor battery life. Carrying a spare battery along or a portable charger might fix this, though.
The Desire HD is priced at Rs26,000 in the stores at the Indian stores and has solid build quality and a majestic feel.
We’ve seen the best Android phones in the market here and they’re doing excellent in number, some even outselling the iPhone in select places.
