It’s flooding with the tablets computers in the market. Technology has a quick turn around this year and the market and spur into tablet computing. The latest one to enter into the market of tablet PC is the Chinese telecom firm Huawei who has recently launched Mediapad tablet with amazing sets of features inside it. The launch comes at CommunicAsia 2011 event held at Singapore on 20th June 2011.
The MediaPad by Huawei will run on the Google Android 3.2 Honeycomb making it has the first tablet to get the Android 3.2 OS and maybe the only one to get it because the launch of the Ice Cream Sandwich will be out in few weeks. As you know that Android 3.0 HoneyComb is the dedicated operating system meant for tablet PC which has the faster speed and better performance and the Android 3.2 is a minor revision to the existing Android 3.1.
Huwaei MediaPad Features
MediaPad will feature a 7 inches LCD screen with capacitive touch. It will have 217 pixels per inch and 1280 x 800 pixels display screen resolution would be providing a quite amazing view to the wallpapers, pictures and videos. The interface is provided with multi touch and touch sensor button with Accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate. As it runs on the Android 3.2 its common that it will features several fixes on the bugs that were found in the earlier versions of Androids OS and it would provide enhanced acceleration with updates to widgets, games and music.
It boards 1.2 Ghz dual core Qualcomm processor is capable of running various applications at a faster speed and quick output. Being a 3G tablet it has got 5 megapixel camera on the rear facing with HD video recording capabilities with auto focus and Geo tagging. An additional 1.3 megapixel front facing camera works as the video camera for video calling and webcam. Since it has front facing camera it’s clear that it would be for the 3G support and this tablet does has 3G feature added. Apart from 3G it has the connectivity options through WiFi, GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, Bluetooth v 2.1 and HSPA+ connectivity. Its provided with one HDMI port.
As it has Android 3.2 it supports Adobe Flash player 10.3 and 8 GB of internal memory storage with provisions of expanding the memory size with the micro SD card slot which supports a maximum memory of 32 GB. You can also find one Micro USB port to connect it with the PC.
The entertainment through this tablet is further more extended with FM Radio added to it with RDS support. Its provided with universal 3.5 mm headset jack to enjoy connectivity through any universal accepted headphones. MediaPad can also works as the navigation system for quick navigation using A GPS added to it. It supports H.264 and MPEG4 video formats and MP3, PCM, AMR, AAC as the audio formats.
MediaPad is preloaded with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social network Go apps. The battery of this tablet is 6 hours during full usage through the 1000mAh lithium ion battery. It measure just 10.5mm in thickness and it’s just weights not more than 400 grams.
MediaPad Price & Availability
The Huawei MediaPad tablet would be available from the third quarter of 2011 in United states. There is no word on the pricing information of this tablet by Huawei. But you can expect it to be priced at $ 550.
