Samsung has already confirmed that they won’t be releasing an Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S. The Korean company cited that the mobile phone’s hardware specifications wouldn’t be able to run it. But the developer community didn’t stop working, they started creating Custom ROMs of their own and the result was awesome they have already made many stable Android ICS ROMs and some AOSP ROMs.
The XDA Developer named “dhiru1602” is currently working onto port the XXLPH ROM for Samsung Galaxy S2 to Samsung Galaxy S, this might sound weird but yeah that is being done by the developer. The best things after installing the ROM would be that people will be able to use the Samsung’s original TouchWiz UI on their Samsung Galaxy S device. TouchWiz brings so many functionality, apps, and it’s known as the improved version of the simple weird Stock Android.
The Work is still under progress and the ROM is still being made by the developer, there are many things that are not working on the ROM such as camera, Wi-Fi or packet data, so it’s not the right time to release the ROM. The developer is working to create the ROM fully stable that’s why he’s working right now and soon the ROM will be released with full stability in hand.
You can directly go to the original development thread at XDA Started by dhiru1602 for any updates regarding this ROM. Currently the ROM is not available because it’s still being made. We will let you know when the ROM will be released by the developer.
